The leadership of three Independent Commissions were interrogated by a House Committee over inadequate documentation in their reports responding to accountability queries.

The National Cohesion and Equal Opportunity Committee chaired by Hon Adan Yussuf Haji had invited the leadership of the Commissions to interrogate them on compliance on employment diversity and provision of equal opportunities to special groups.

The Commissions that appeared before the Committee separately were; Judicial Service Commission (JSC), Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ) and Commission for Revenue Allocation (CRA).

According to Committee, senior officers from the Commissions presented documents that lacked key evidence to justify their compliance with the regulation.

After keenly going through their report, Members of the Committee noticed glaring deficiency in their evidence on procurement where crucial details were omitted among others.

As a result, the Chairman in response to the resolutions by Members directed them to go back and prepare adequately before appearing to the Committee.

During the engagement Madam Mercy Wambua CEO of Commission on Administrative Justice assured Members of her commitment to revise their report to include relevant evidence as required of them.

"Hon chairman we are well guided by the Committee on what is required to be added in our report," she said.

Commissioner Mr. Koitamet Olekina from Commission on Revenue Allocation was also advised by the Committee to redo the report and provide relevant supporting documents where all figures should have percentages.

Said Hon Haji:" All we are looking for is documents that we will be able to table in the House to defend the Commissions on compliance with the law".

The chairman also directed the Chairperson of the Commission on Revenue Allocation Mrs. Mary Wanyonyi to appear in person on 22nd this month to respond to accountability queries.
