Public Petitions Committee meets to charter way forward

The Public Petitions Committee under the stewardship of newly elected Chairperson, Hon. Ernest Kavai Kagesi held its inaugural meeting today.

The Vihiga Constituency MP had called the meeting to charter a way forward for the Committee tasked with handling Public Petitions brought before the National Assembly.

Standing Order 208A mandates the Committee to consider all public petitions tabled in the House, make such recommendations as may be appropriate with respect to the prayers sought, and advise the House on all resolutions.

In his address to Members of the Committee, Hon. Kagesi promised to fast-track consideration of petitions.
