Budalangโ€™i lawmaker and his Makueni County counterpart, Hon. Rose Museo have been re-elected unopposed as Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, respectively, at the helm of the Committee on Implementation.

The two lawmakers are set to steer the 21- Member Committee, which now has four new Members, for the remainder of the 13th Parliament. Hon. Jessica Mbalu (Kibwezi East), Hon. Komingoi Kibet (Bureti), Hon. Kitilai Ole Ntutu (Narok South) and Hon. Chege Njuguna (Kandara) joined the Committee in the recent reconstitution of the Committee.

While making their acceptance remarks, the two legislators undertook to scale up the implementation of House resolutions especially those whose timelines have lapsed.

โ€œOver the next phase of our work, we must prioritize fast-tracking implementation of House resolutions, especially those whose implementation timelines have been long overdueโ€, Hon. Wanjala pledged.

They thanked the Committee Members for the confidence bestowed on them, which saw them re-elected unopposed. Hon. Wanjala noted that though some of the House resolutions had proven hard to implement, the Committee would continue pushing, promising that it was time to move the discussions to action.

Accounting for the Committeeโ€™s two and half yearsโ€™ tenure, Hon. Wanjala noted that the Committee had already dispensed with over 30 individual reports in the past half of the 13th Parliament.

โ€œAs at now, we have tabled three omnibus reports: the First Omnibus report tabled on 26thOctober, 2023 contained a total of five (5) reports; the Second Omnibus Report, a total of fifteen (15) reports and the Third Omnibus Report tabled on 5th December, 2024 contained twenty (20) reports. This makes a total of thirty (30) individual reports dispensed with over the first half of the 13th Parliament by the Committeeโ€, he informed the Committee.
