Committee on Sports concludes consultations with State Departments on Supplementary Budget Estimates II𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓
The National Assembly Committee on Sports and Culture has concluded its review of Supplementary Estimates II for the 2024/2025 financial year, covering state departments under its purview
Chaired by Hon. Dan Wanyama (Webuye West), the committee engaged Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, the Creative Economy, and Sports, Hon. Salim Mvurya, alongside heads of relevant state departments, to scrutinize their revenue and expenditure estimates.
During a session held at Bunge Towers, Principal Secretary for the State Department of Sports, Eng. Peter Tum, and his counterpart in Youth Affairs and the Creative Economy, Mr. Ismail Madey, presented their budget estimates for review.
The committee emphasized the critical role of these departments in addressing youth-related issues and urged the officials to meet the expectations of young people across the country.
Members of the committee further called on the CS and PSs to ensure timely completion of ongoing projects to maximize their impact on youth development. They also reaffirmed the National Assembly's commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at empowering the youth.
