Liaison Committee begins deliberations on the 2025 Budget Policy Statement and the Medium-Term Debt Management Strategy

The Liaison Committee, chaired by the Deputy Speaker Hon. Gladys Boss (Uasin Gishu), has begun deliberating on the 2025 Budget Policy Statement (BPS) and the Medium-Term Debt Management Strategy (MTDS).

The Committee comprising Chairpersons of all the Departmental Committee, shall also be meeting today with the Controller of Budget, the Commission on Revenue Allocation and the Auditor General.

The sessions that will run for the better part of this week, will also have the Chairpersons of the Departmental Committees presenting their reports on the Budget Policy Statements from the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) under their purview for consideration.

Currently, the Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO) is apprising the Committee on the content and the impact of the BPS and the MTDS on the actual budget.
