Siaya County residents support entrenchment of development funds in the constitution

𝐒𝐢𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲, 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝟓𝐭𝐡, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓.

Residents across Siaya County have supported the Constitution of Kenya (amendment) Bill 2025 (National Assembly Bill No. 4 of 2025) which aims to entrench NG-CDF, NGAAF and Senate Oversight Fund into the constitution.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐒: Residents of Dagoretti North Constituency that is represented in the National Assembly by Hon Beatrice Elachi today gave views on the proposed Constitution of Kenya (Amendment), Bill, 2025.

The day-long exercise was held at the area National Government -Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) offices in Nairobi County.

The Bill seeks to formally entrench the National Government Constituencies Fund , the Senate Oversight Fund, and the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) into law.

Bungoma County:-Webuye East Residents Back Proposal to Entrench CDF, NGAAF, and Senate Oversight Funds in Constitution

Webuye East residents turned out in large numbers on Monday for public hearings on a proposed constitutional amendment aimed at entrenching three key development funds: the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF), and the Senate Oversight Fund.

The public participation exercise on the Constitution of Kenya Amendment Bill, 2025, is underway at Kinango Constituency NG-CDF Offices in Kwale County.

The exercise seeks to amend the Constitution by establishing the National Government Constituencies Fund, the Senate Oversight Fund and the National Government Affirmative Action Fund.

𝐈𝐧 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬: Manyatta Constituency, Embu County. Residents turn out in large numbers for the Public Participation exercise on the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2025.

In the exercise in which they were joined by Runyenjes MP, Hon. Karemba Muchangi, Manyatta MP, Hon. Gitonga Mukunji, and the County Woman MP, Hon. Pamela Njeru, the residents were taken through the Bill and its provisions by officers from the National Assembly who are facilitating the process.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐒: The Kasarani National Government - Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) office, in Nairobi County was a bee-hive activities as area residents flocked the venue for the Public Hearings on the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2025.

Members of the public gave their views on the Bill,

through filling the questionnaires provided to them by staff from the National Assembly.

The Bill, aims to anchor NG-CDF, the Senate Oversight Fund, and the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) into law.

The Bill seeks to entrench The National Government Constituencies Fund (NG-CDF), The Senate Oversight Fund and The National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) in the constitution. 

The National Assembly Secretariat is expected to engage residents in the remaining 9 constituencies.

The sessions aim to gather citizen views on the proposals to entrench NGCDF and NGAAF into the Constitution.
